Launched in 2016 by designer Katrin Alda, Icelandic footwear brand KALDA creates statement shoes at contemporary prices.

Inspired by her upbringing in the north of Iceland, Katrin combines opposing elements that come together effortlessly in her designs. This juxtaposition is seen across the collection, particularly in the patchwork-style shoes that combine local Icelandic Salmon skin with a more traditional suede and leather.

Katrin seeks to challenge conventional beauty in her design and brings the unexpected mixed with sensibility to each and every shoe. Having already won over Pandora Sykes and Ada Kokosar (who are fans), Kalda is now stocked in Browns, Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Selfridges and Shopbop.

Katrin Alda graduated from London College of Fashion shortly before opening up her own boutique in Reykjavik. She then went on to found KALDA and now currently splits her time between Reykjavik, New York and London.
